Technical Artist / Technical Animator
The Technical Artist at CDPR works between the art and code departments to provide support, improve and maintain workflow throughout the product development cycle.
Responsibilities:
- Debugging and diagnosing problems, both in the engine and external tools
- Developing tools using MaxScript / Mel and C++
- Supporting existing and developing new pipelines for all departments, art, animation and character mimics in particular
- Optimizing content for memory and performance gains
Required skills & experience:
- Solid knowledge of 3D game art modeling and texturing pipelines
- Algebra, geometry and vector calculus
- Understanding of real-time shading techniques and post processes
- Understanding of DirectX(9.0-11.0+) / OpenGl (SM5.0+)
- Proficiency using 3D Studio Max and Motion Builder
- Programming / scripting experience (MaxScript and C++ preferred)
- Fluent English
- Ability to work in a team environment and under a tight schedule
- A true passion for gaming
Nice to have:
- Proficiency using commercial game engine
- Creativity
- Character skinning / rigging skills
- Understanding of physics systems (Havok, PhysX)
- Analysis and complexity theory
- Experience in mocap systems
